Nichole's Surgery Update
Sunday, 5 July 2009
7-5-09 9:08 am
I'm sorry that I did not update last night but I could not get on the internet.  Nicki was pretty miserable yesterday and especially last night. The tube has caused sinusitis, sore throat, ear pain and her nose runs constantly which of course makes the tube even more unbearable. She got almost no sleep.  Her IV's have been moved several more times and now both have to be moved again. She is black and blue and swollen.  Still not much stomach sound and no air movement. It's just a day by day thing. The fluid has turned back to dark green but they don't seem too concerned about that. After the tube is removed they will slowly give her some nutrition.  I'm sure clear liquids first to see how her stomach and bowels react. She will have to pass all the test. They want to move slow because they don't want to have to put the tube back in. That would be horrible. Thank you for all your prayers. Keep praying.  We did get to see a few fireworks. There were some right out Nciki's window.  I took Steve to the airport this morning. He is flying home and will fly back down on Friday. He will take me to the airport Saturday morning and I'll fly home probably to stay. Steve will stay another week. That will be 3 total then her friends will take over.  I hope she gets released on Tuesday or Wednesday so I can get her home and settled before I leave. Get some food in the freezer etc. Our schedule of course is literaly in the hands of the dreaded "tube".

Name: "Linda"

Hello,

Read your latest entry and pray that everything went well this evening.  It has been a long day for Tom and I.  Sunday is always  busy.  We left at 8:30 am and returned about 12 hours later.  Spent the day visiting with church family in the hospital.  Stella was at church this evening.  She looks good but Gene is not doing well.  Daddy seemed tired today.  We did not eat lunch as usual.  He was inivited to one of Fauna's son's house for dinner.  He stood me up :-)  Love you and pray for a restful night for both of you.  Blessings
